Anyone here from NC?

I believe a moderate political approach could play a role in the success. An approach that's more to the center does seem to prove popular amongst their residents.

@thatguy8869 Same.

@dirtydinner6463 Colorado is partly like that due to TABOR. In case you don't know, TABOR stands for the Taxpayers Bill of Rights. It was passed by Colorado voters back when they were governed by Republicans during the 1990s. TABOR basically states that the state cannot raise revenue (especially through raised tax rates) without voter approval. I think that the Democrats in Colorado tried to weaken it back in 2019, but that was rejected by the Colorado voters. As for Nevada, I'm honestly not quite sure. Although a Democratic leaning state, they seem to be more fiscally conservative (which seems somewhat ironic for a state known for gambling). Such policies may even provide a way in for Republicans during next year's elections.

What about the gators and hurricanes?

@StageRight123 Yet, the fact that it hasn't been named on any such list does seem imply something different. But hey, to each their own.

@StageRight123 Don't be mad because your state didn't make the list. Maybe some day 😉.

@gcb345 Based means that he liked the results.....

@boogitybear2283 Indeed!

@yungthunder2681 As for 2024, it's hard to say what will happen. Judging by the current GOP, it doesn't appear that a moderate will have room to win the party's nomination. But things could change leading up to the primaries in three years....

@yungthunder2681 I see. Thank you for providing insight! One question though. As a former Nevada resident, how competitive would you say Nevada is (in terms of politics)?
2
@je19662008 Nevada and Colorado already have Democratic governments. As for NC and Georgia, they're still firmly in the red column at the state level.

@deathscythehell7937 You got out of St.Louis just in time. Talk about luck!
2
@Shannonbarnesdr1 I see what you did there....

Maine was up here before New Hampshire? Hmm.....

@Shannonbarnesdr1 Glad you're happy!

As a North Carolinian, what are you talking about?
1
@yungthunder2681 Thank you. I was just asking, as Nevada's state legislative an Senate elections are coming up next year. I hear they have the potential to be quite competitive. I also noticed that last year in Nevada, Republicans won a majority of the votes (around 51%) in the Nevada state house race. Perhaps, this could indicate potential competition as well?

It does get hot (and humid) during the summers down in the South! So that's definitely an adjustment to make on its own.

You are leaving the state?
1
@WingsDippedInBlood Got any ideas for other states to move to? What exactly are you looking for (if you don't mind my asking)?
1
@deathscythehell7937 I see. Remember to stay safe though. This year’s hurricane season is set to be another active one!
