What do you think credit card companies do, or banks, or government agencies -- do you think they sit back passively, without compiling the information that they're privy to into some sort of database? He was right, you're being watched just as much in the 'real-world' or physical world as you are online.

How do you know the bank, or your credit card company, hasn't sold your information to some third party? How do you know your credit card company hasn't sold your profile, that is to say the collection of information concerning everything you've used your credit card to buy, to some third party, to some marketing firm or what have you...? I mean, common, start using that piece of broccoli between your ears...

think.

Sorry, also, the 'tracking' online may be more generally coherent than in the 'real-world'. That is the slight difference, if you'd consider it much of a difference.

Now, if they're tracking IP addresses, and are able to somehow obtain records stating who those IP addresses belong to, that's another story...

So, just because murder is illegal, just because it has hefty consequences like the death penalty and life in prison, does not stop murdering from happening. Also, you have clearly underestimated the power of the almighty dollar when 'justice' is concerned...

Seriously...? What do you expect to happen when you sign-up to networking sites, or any site for that matter, or post anything on any website prompting you for your FB information or whether or not you'd like your post linked to your FB account...? YOU CAN STILL REMAIN FAIRLY ANONYMOUS ONLINE, AS LONG AS YOU DON'T DIVULGE YOUR PERSONAL IFNORMATION -- and, if you do divulge your information, EXCEPT your privacy to be 'violated'!

Yes but once you give them the information, they can use it any which way that pleases them and, for the most part, you will never know how they use it; whether or not they sold your information to some third party, etc etc. I feel as if "some degree of responsibility" is a great misrepresentation of the truth.

So, you don't have a credit card, or even a bank account?? Some degree of responsibility with the agencies or institutions...? You gotta be kidding me...

...campaign, because as soon as they enter office, what they said they were going to do becomes something totally different.

I do not understand why you are getting so defensiveness, or taking this so personally. But that is beside the point. Sure, you have the choice of what bank to use, or what credit card to get, but you have absolutely zero choice of whether or not you want to give them certain information. Also, to say we elect public officials, is to imply our votes matter, and as time goes on it is becoming more and more self-evident that it does not matter who you elect, or what they promise to do in their c

"Banks are far too dependent on the money of their clients..." And that is why they get billions of dollars in bailouts...? I understand where you are coming from, but they have little responsibility to the public, and even their clients.
