@Ghosy01 The west just provides a few subsidies. Corporations do the big investing. They can do it cheaper then governments. The U.S. has the biggest lithium deposits in the world. And those deposits are just the tip.

@icedriver2207 China had put huge tariffs on U.S. goods for years. Starting with a minimum $25,000 tariff on U.S. cars. Don't worry. The U.S. has plenty of rare earth metals. It's China that will need to become a net importer in the future as their reserves are already running low.😂🤣

@JSRTales This isn't what you think. This is just encouragement funding. A sign of approval. The billions will come from private investors as it should. Corporations will do this for a few billions and be in operation in 10 years or less. The government would spend 10's of billions and have it operable sometime before the year 2075. Maybe... -------- No bull💩 I believe it was San Francisco considered building a single public toilet facility in the downtown area. Estimated cost. 1.8 million dollars. A private company came forward and offered to build it for free. The city turned it down. The city didn't have the 1.5 million to pay for it. Seriously. Even if a private company built the public toilet all at their expense(labor/everything), it would still cost 1.5 million dollars. That's government for you.

15 million$ from the U.S. military. It's nothing but a sign of approval. The U.S. DOD spends billions every year on things most people would not consider military business. In fact every realm is within the military purview. A few years ago, they provided a quarter billion dollars to a French pharmaceutical company to research a vaccine for an insect transmitted virus usually found in warm tropical environments. What's that to do with the military. A viral outbreak is an issue if your involved in combat in said environment. And the French got a sweet deal. Find a vaccine and they get to keep the IP thus all royalties. And they can set their own price and it requires no discounts or breaks for the U.S. military. That's right. We'll fund the research and then you can F@#k the U.S. military on price. The U.S. does this all the time with countries all over the world.

@michaelanderson3096 You're just a 🤡. Oil in the middle east was for world commerce. Currently the U.S. is a net oil & natural gas exporter. As to lithium, the U.S. has the world's largest reserves like 3× over and likely 10× over. The U.S. has plenty of rare earth metals if it chooses to exploit them. As to China. They have withheld such sources from others that didn't agree with them and their agenda. But more importantly, China's rare earth metals are starting to deplete. In 10 to 20 years, China will become a net importer just to meet it's own needs let alone sell to others.
