@Anonymint-vj7bt Still, Australia wins the #1 trophy on that side of the world for badly treating its citizenry.
53
I already crossed Australia off my list due to high taxation, over regulation, and feminism BEFORE Covid even, let alone from this news.

@madselmvig1457 Dismantling the bureaucracy on top of culture is not abolishment of culture. Culture thrives without government's oppression. People who equate the abolishment of a bureaucracy with the underlying thing they are supposed to support are Government Worshippers. Don't be a government worshipper and don't sell your soul to "benefits".

Puerto Rico Act 60 is even less attractive then Andrew stated. Your substantial presence there is 183+ days/6 months per year. Act 60 also requires you to purchase a house after 2 years of declaration. And average house under 2000 square feet in the most common expat areas like East PR is like $400,000. This house must be declared as your primary residency. AND you must donate to an approved PR charity list in the amount of $10,000 EVERY year. So unless you current tax bill exceeds $10,000 substantially, and you can afford to buy a $400,000 house, or sell your U.S. to do it, then this is not the plan for you.
29
Running to what? Your residency that you already established ahead of time? If and when you're not allowed to get on an airplane yet again, you're not running anywhere.
27
Paraguay is not a mid 5 figures - ~$50,000 - permanent residency cost. It is a mid FOUR figures. $6000+ including your attorney fees.
27
Agreed: Paraguay was a BIG miss on this video. Maybe Andrew is keeping Paraguay for himself in the apocalypse. Paraguay is also a net exporter of food which of course means there is plenty of available farm land. And Paraguay sits on top of the largest remaining fresh water aquafer in the world - the Guarani Aquifer. And being in South America in the southern hemisphere like many of those other countries is mentioned is insulated for the most part from a northern hemisphere nuclear war. It has both one of the cheapest temporary and permanent residency costs in the world, and a solid, legitimate path to citizenship naturalization in 5 years now. (It just increased from 3). It is also a net producer and exporter of power due to mostly hydroelectric power.
21
@Hellodumbbitchs Transportation and education thrive just fine without an over-sized, bureaucratic "ministry" slowing them down and pointing them in the wrong direction.
21
I take it privacy is not your forte. I wouldn't be telling you anything either.
20
@justinnewman5533 << the "bot" projection is strong in this one.
20
And ducks?! Anyone who is anyone has SWANS, not filthy ducks!
18
@mali447 He did a break down on a older video when he owned 5 condos. Everything literally cost about $16,000 per year. At his level and wanted unlived in condos, he doesn't care about opportunity cost.
13
@WeknowhoUR Mexico is a huge country. Nobody is recommending living near border conflict areas or drug cartels that the U.S. is exasperating during the current administration. Border conflict areas and drug cartels do not represent Mexico.
13
Being angry and cynical will destroy your health. You don't need to be in shape to get a passport. You don't need to be in shape to ride on an airplane. Take a vacation.
12
Interesting that they do it at 2 years. Maybe they left at the 2 year mark because otherwise under Act 60 they would be forced to buy a house 🤣
11
He has 6 condominiums not houses. They have building security. Most of the utilities he leaves running and costs very little unused. And like he said he has an assistant to manage to properties.
11
Buying a brand new car and being hit by 50% of depreciation in 5 years is one of those bad ownership decisions as opposed to good ones.
10
Mexico scored really well during the lockdowns. I gave it an A-. Australia got an F minus 🤣
9
Well he said Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore for starters. Were you not listening?
9
No lottery tickets?! But Andrew, that's my plan to afford to be your client! 🤣
9
Sometimes it's so low though you don't mind and don't feel a loss of ownership. Like St. Kitts is 0.25% - 1/4 of a percent - plus a front end exemption.
8
It's... not unbearable politically for you yet? How unbearable does it need to get for you?
8
Anything "in a city" is higher. People choose to live the way they like, but seeking a city is probably not the thing most people are looking for when moving to Costa Rica or Belize.
7
His target audience is 7 and 8 figure entrepreneurs who can easily, easily afford Malaysia's residency program.
7
I believe it is just under 100,000 acres, which is ~40,400 hectares, so the land is much more massive than that. Their land is way out in the rural Chaco close to the Bolivia and Brazilian borders. Also that aquifer is way larger than their land, so that people reading this don't think they own it all. The place to realistically live is on the other side of Paraguay in the SE so you won't be neighbors with the Bush's.
7
@LordLauderdale Johor Bahru would probably provide for 95% of my needs. I don't place my self in a any situation where I have to commute anywhere every day. I'd more likely have an issue with the battery in my car dying from non-use. 🤣
7
@judymckee5992 What are you talking about that the cost of living is high? San Jose, Costa Rica has only 54% of the cost of living of Jacksonville, Florida? That's almost half. We're not eating rice and beans in Jacksonville. Would you like to compare it to San Francisco or New York City next??
7
Yup, 2008. That's the last time I voted. The Republicans and Democrats have been two wings of the same bird. Once you're politically homeless, you might as well leave.
7
You don't. You become a settler. You pick up your kids and settle in a new country. Being a nomadic traveler with kids is a rare and costlier lifestyle.
7
@l.k.7940 Many parts, not "certain" parts. Many parts of Mexico are quite safe. Certain parts of Mexico are dangerous.
7
He used to do annual videos on top countries to live in for $1000/month. Those videos should still be on the channel.
7
@judymckee5992 Maybe your contractor was negative, or made up.
7
St. Kitts also doubled their real estate option. Minimum price of a detached home for CBI went up from $400,000 to $800,000. There are some condominiums that still qualify for $400,000 investment for certain properties, in certain areas, like Frigate Bay and other neighborhoods, but that still is $400K for a condo. St. Kitts also has 3 levels or residency. Temporary residency can be obtained if you rent (or own) and pay a fee of $600 or less per year. Temporary annual residency if you rent a place and pay $1500 per year, or permanent residency if you buy a home at $350,000+ and a ~$5000 one time fee.
7
I'm going to heaven with Jesus.
7
No. The Foreign Earned Income Exclusion does not require any "tax treaty" to be present. The Foreign Earned Income Exclusion stands on it's own for U.S. citizens, and has it's own internal requirements to qualify. Just because a "tax treaty" exists does not mean a treaty applies to all things related to taxes.
7
Just don't wait too long before you get a squatter in the house that refuses to leave and the police support them being there 🤣
7
@vitae4929 There will be more wars and rumors of wars. Buckle up. Azerbaijan has had recent conflicts with Georgia too again. I crossed off Georgia after the Ukraine conflict. I'm not living anywhere in that region sandwiched between Russia and Iran.
6
You're thinking with your other head.
6
@jf8461 I would build my camel a Nose Tent 🤣
6
Only like 10 out of about 198 countries on the entire planet earth offer CBIs, so most countries do not offer CBI.
6
@GabrielDiggs ... He's laughing at the people that say Trump is bad. As am I.
6
@zoltrix7779 It's too high for me and there's 200 other countries out there. Also done with the "western" countries like 3 years ago.
6
Most people the purchase CBIs, do not live in these countries that they gain citizenship from.
6
Don't make a half move when a full move is needed. I'm in Florida working to get out. Florida will fall. Florida will become the "Dunkirk" of the U.S. Don't be stuck on the beaches of Dunkirk. Florida is at best short term temporary relief. If you're going to purchase a home, it might as well come with citizenship. Try looking at St. Kitts which is English speaking.
6
This is the most negative comment thread on the Philippines I think I have ever seen, making it inaccurate by that very nature.
6
Read the countless stories for inspiration of "I left my country with x amount of dollars in my pocket and the shirt on my back." Or watch a live cam feed of the southern U.S. border 🤣
6
@camelotenglishtuition6394 If I could afford the MM2H program, I would go to Malaysia too. In fact my friend and I canceled our trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand because of the pandemic and the suspension of the MM2H program. I was so looking forward to seeing Kuala Lumpur for the first time. From all that I've seen, I would love Malaysia. It's just a renewal. It's no big deal. If the government really gets too oppressive to expats, than you just don't renew. I believe a lot of wealthy expats love it too.
5
Hmm. Rather choose Namibia. But there are so many other places outside of Africa that are better that I'd rather not choose Africa at all. Hands down: South America wins.
5
Yeah, but he sold it. Sounds like he returned right back to his philosophy.
5
Yes. For now.
