@Erin has a short about this, too. From my current job, I was talking to a recruiter and he asked my salary expectations, I said something non-committal and asked about the salary range they were offering. He said 90-120k, a good deal higher than I would have said (although about right for my position). Then he got back and said the hiring manager downgraded to 85-90k and *didn't want to waste my time*. 😥 I'm way underpaid at 60k in my current job. 85-90k is also above what I'm expecting for my next promotion.😥 I'm looking up the company now based on the description he sent over so I can apply directly. The work is a little specialty and sounds fun!

@acbh-ns7px Fair, but T could learn a lot about politeness from a 4 yr old.
13
And he deftly side-stepped it by resigning. What a douche.
8
Yes, please don't interrupt Trump when he's saying something stupid.
7
The don't get a 100% pass on it. They pay SS taxes on the first $168,600 they earn (or are paid for, at least 😀). True, once they reach that cap, they don't pay any more, but they won't draw benefits based on more than that cap, either. The benefits calculations would have to change, but that's not a bad thing. Currently if you put $80/year in over 35 years, you have to take benefits from 65-90 to get it all back.

@ibwonderful1 Then maybe he should stop making it so easy! He's the President (elect) of the Unites States nominating the decision makers and his advisors for our country! And it's not his first time doing this. Moral issues aside, Hegseth was only a Major in the National Guard. I'll thank him for his service, but it's not even a senior officer. He's done nothing in a civilian role to prepare him for this position. I understand everyone starts a new job underqualified, but he's not even close. I feel like these nominations are a mockery to the system. Dr. Janette Nesheiwat is the only one I've seen that's even shown the potential to grow into the position he's nominated them for. Maybe if he'd quit treating it like a joke, people would quit laughing.
6
Not all of us have been nominated for Defense Secretary. As an officer in the Military (even National Guard) he would have been held to a higher standard. Allegations of misconduct or not, I'm not convinced a MAJOR in the National Guard has the experience managing at the scale Secretary of Defense is or in shaping a broad defense policy. Edit: Edited my personal, harmful opinion out.
6
@ibwonderful1 Okay, maybe the last part was over the line. He still has questionable morals and very limited experience to be Secretary of Defense. Is this really the best we can do for such an important position?

@Starbeoghtuser3475 The wealthy pay the same SS taxes you do on the first $168,600 they earn. And their benefits are paid out based on that cap. If you let them pay SS taxes on $1 million a year, what's that going to do when they want to start receiving benefits? I mean, if they pay it in, they want it back just like you do?

Most doctors will refuse to tie a woman's tubes before 28-30 because it's irreversible. I don't get how this is OK.
3
And that's how he skates around all these charges. He told everyone to show up on Jan 6 for 'peaceful protest' nudge, nudge, wink, wink. He can claim later he never said anything inflammatory, but they all knew enough to bring guns.
2
@JoanMorrison-vq2jc OH! I'm sorry, I really meant Uncle Donald! I've never known Prince William to be less than truthful. I expected that to be blatantly obvious or I would have specified more clearly.
2
Who would you report them to?
2
@AnnOno-i7m Thanks! Yes, I noticed that, and thank you for pointing it out publicly. Not convicted is not exactly the same thing as not guilty. He will have to go through a rigorous background investigation to get a top-level security clearance. "Not convicted" isn't really a great accomplishment here as allegations, even without convictions, can raise red flags. The allegations of financial misconduct for both Vets For Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America as well as the allegations of misconduct and intoxication will all come to light. Don't forget, he volunteered to provide security at the 2020 inauguration but was flagged as a "potential insider threat". He'll have to satisfactorily answer to all these allegations in the Senate confirmation hearings and be able to obtain top-level security clearance. All of that before we even consider the fact he was only a Major (not senior leadership) in the National Guard. Thanks for your service, Pete, but we'll pass on Defense Secretary.
2
@lukehelleksen68 But it is! Senate confirmation hearings will go through personal, financial, professional and criminal history. He'll have to be able to pass top-level security clearance. But that contest will be won or lost in Senate confirmation hearings, not here in You Tube comments.

No, he literally meant we wouldn't have elections anymore. The (thinly veiled) threat was that if Trump wasn't elected on Nov. 9, 2024, he would have taken the office by force on Jan. 6, 2025. Trump also promised if he were elected, you wouldn't need elections anymore. He has the Executive branch, Republican support from the Legislative branch, and if he gets Pam Bondi for Attorney General, he'll have control of the Judicial branch as well. This is exactly the situation our forefathers put the system of Checks and Balances in place to prevent. Congratulations, you just elected your King. With Musk heading up the East India Tea Company.

At (just) under 5 minutes in, on Windows, I already love this!

President-elect Trump.
1
@JC-tq8gm Interesting stats, what do they have to do with Trump making implications instead of statements so he can always claim plausible deniability? I don't think it's really TDS when I've heard his supporters wanting to "free me from the burden of voting every 4 years" That's the basis for Democracy that our country was founded on.
1
This is stupid. I'm not paying for that. If it's contested, they can pay for the test. @4:00 Who WANTS all the information about both parents and the child? The government, the DNA testing facilities! This data will be bought and sold on the open market just like phone numbers and GPS data from driving your "smart" cars. @5:48 That's 30% of the men that had reason enough to get a DNA test were correct. That's NOT the same thing as 30% or men registered on the birth certificate aren't actually the father.
1
@dissipatedtaint Honestly, I wish she hadn't. I wanted to hear whatever stupid things he was about to say.
1
@Tere225 😁😁

This has been my point exactly ! They don't need to rig the votes, they've already rigged the candidates! As far as which one, the DNC & RNC don't really care. If they lose this election, they'll win the next one. BUT it's crucial they keep the polls at dead even up to election day so no one is comfortable voting for a 3rd party, basically they want everyone voting against the other candidate rather than voting for their candidate. Even if it means they have to smear their own candidate.
1
lol. "Why do we have to bring in the 'science' of it?"
1
@porschephile2k3 Because that worked out so well in the late 19th/early 20th century? It worked out so well we created the *Voting Rights Act of 1965*.
1
@AmyW-m2p As a US Citizen, he is innocent until proven guilty, and thank him for his service to our country! As Secretary of Defense, he has to pass a rigorous background investigation and obtain top-level security clearance. It's a much higher bar and one or two allegations may not prevent him from those clearances, but he seems to be in the wrong place at a lot of wrong times.
1
@AmyW-m2p He left both of the Veteran's organizations he led under less than ideal circumstances. He was denied a volunteer position presumably around a white supremacist tattoo he has. Ultimately, it's not my reckoning that matters. That belongs to the Senate Judicial Committee.
1
@queeniequeen949 I think that was her point. 200 applications/6 months is 1 application/day. I find it difficult to believe that all those jobs actually had relevance and meaning to the person applying. She said you have to break out of the pandemic mentality and network with real people. I'm trying, but it is difficult.
1
Hmm. Did someone lie to you about Trump?
1
Who has a long history of it?
1
@AuroraB-74 I find it hard to believe that clueless admins could do a worse job than the specially trained HR department does. We have a 2/3 hybrid policy for a Return to Office - if you live within 26 miles of the office. I'm the only one on my team within 26 miles of the office. 20+ miles (each way) times 3 days / week equals ~120 miles. At 20 mpg and an average of $3.50/gall of gas, that's about an extra $20/week it costs me to go to the office to be in the same Teams meetings I'm in at home. Their compensation? Snacks on Thursday! (I've seen them separating 3-packs of Cracker Jacks to pass out 1/person. Don't even ask for 2! Oddly, they get just as mad when I say "no thank you") Oh, yes, they'll be tracking attendance (badge swipes). This will 1. be reported to upper management 2. included on your Performance review. Yes, clueless monkeys could do a better job.
1
@dennispatrick4999 Oh! Did someone lie about Trump's height, too?
1
@jmasik100 Which is actually better for his country than what Donald does for his!
1
@FreedInFashion I think that's fine. They told you a couple of times the top of their range is 70k. If that was a real deal-breaker, you should have told them before the 6 separate interviews. Know that you got the top of their range, and probably the best they could do.
1
@Joe-ij6of 💯
1
@LorisSawmill Trump supporters don't really like to follow rules, care what you think, or want to think about issues and policies. They do like shouting, chanting empty slogans, and feeling good. (It's kinda what makes them Trump supporters)
1
@61zu Which is why he appointed Pan Bondi for AG. She's a rabid Trump supporter and that weakens our Checks and Balances system by shifting too much power to the Executive branch. She still has to pass Senate Confirmation before she can take the job. I hope the Senate realizes the Founding Forefathers set up a Checks and Balances between the branches of the government specifically to prevent being ruled by a King.
1
@lynemac2539 Automatic +1 for anyone bringing back the 'gloom and doom' sci-fi stories that ring so true today! '1984' and 'Brave New World' are good, too! (Hint: good sci-fi is rarely about the science, it's using the science to foreshadow possible outcomes from our actions today in order that we can possibly prevent those outcomes)
1
@peterrhines1516 And it won't be there next year when they need it. Maybe it was a mild winter and they didn't need as much salt (for the roads) as they budgeted for. So the budget gets cut and next year they run out of salt in November.

@richardbrookins5406 Checks and balances, checks and balances.
