There are more Gujaratis in WB than Bengalis in Gujarat. Out of 9 crores population, WB has 2 crores migrant population from the Hindi states.

@divyang4482 this is the official figure. Out of 9 crores population of West Bengal, 2 crores consider Hindi as their mother tongue. There are more Gujaratis in West Bengal than Bengalis in Gujarat. I remember when I was posted in Kolkata, entire Eden Garden stadium was booked by Gujaratis for some festival. When bhaiyya laborers raped a minor Gujarati girl, only 50,000 bhaiyyas were chased out of Gujarat. If you compare these numbers you'll get shocking insights. Large number of senior TMC leaders are Biharis like Firhad Hakim, Arjun Singh etc. Nearly all gujju, bhaiyya TMC leaders have ditched TMC and joined BJP in WB.

@AemondTomahawk stop talking rubbish. Bengali speaking parts of Bengal were given to Bihar during the creation of Bihar. Bengali speaking eastern Jharkhand was not remerged with Bengal due to request of JRD Tata. Many Bengali speaking parts of Bihar were merged with Bengal during state reorganization in 1950s but may remained in undivided Bihar purely due to pro Bihar sentiment of the central government. Places with mixed population like Dhanbad were retained in Bihar. And only purely Bengali dominated regions were merged with Bengal. Bengalis are a very different people from Biharis and Jharkhandis. Every state has domicile certificate. Having a domicile certificate doesn't means that one is native of that place.

@aritrabhattacharya1530 Bengalis are a minority in Kolkata, Darjeeling and many parts adjoining Jharkhand and Bihar. This change in demography will have socio political turmoil.
5
@AemondTomahawk if someone doesn't speak the local language, then what is he??
4
@rajendervallapureddy1564 India was not supposed to be governed centrally but as a union of autonomous states. Let India be governed as 30 economies and then let's see who goes where. And not only leaders of Bengal but Narendra Modi himself mentioned New Delhi imposing all kinds of hurdles to the growth of opposition ruled states. Ironically, now he is continuing with same policy.
3
Kerala has no industries. Why will anyone migrate to such state? Bengalis work in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
3
@adwaitvedant3297 Biharis themselves claim that there are more than one crore Biharis in Bengal. If we include other Hindi speaking people, it'll easily cross 2 crores. If you are a Bengali living in Bengal and not under a rock, then you'll hardly see anyone speaking Bengali in Kolkata which wasn't the case prior to 1980s. Bengalis have become a minority not only in Kolkata but in many other large cities of Bengal. Which is why TMC had to import a Bihari Shatrughan Sinha to win in Asansol another city which has more Biharis than Bengalis.

@surajs5913 @surajs5913 China kicks us around so what security? India is below Bangladesh and bankrupt Srilanka in terms of per capita GDP and HDI so what economic growth? What's the point of staying with such a union illegally created by the British where India ranks below African countries in global hunger index? How India has been ruled by few political families for last more than 75 years? What was Patel's contribution to India's independence particularly when he opposed independence of British India of which much of Gujarat wasn't a part of? Patel united India so that the monopoly of Gujarati, Parsi, Marwari business houses in bed with the British didn't end with the exit of the British from their illegal creation called India. You too agree if a referendum is held, no one would want to be part of India. So, did we gain independence in 1947 or replaced one form of colonial rule with another more insidious form of colonial rule??
3
@surajs5913 let each state govern their own economy and administration. This is what West Pakistan used to say about East Pakistan aka East Bengal. Today the tables have turned. Let Bengal and other states who want autonomy do so without seceding from the union of India an illegal creation of the British.
3
@calmdownleo11 Gujarat is #5 in GSDP whereas WB is #6th. Gujarat doesn't has such large migrant and immigrant population as WB.
2
@subhasishganguly5588 that's what BJP's IT would want us all to believe. Let India be governed as 30 economies in the true spirit of "competitive and cooperative federalism" advocated by none other than current PM Modi.
2
@subhasishganguly5588 what can you say to one who roots for centralized rule by foreign invaders?? Why are you crapping if states manage their own show?? Let there be a referendum and each state decide how and to what extent they would like to integrate with the union of India.
2
If India is governed as a union of 30 countries, states like Gujarat, Haryana will find it extremely difficult to retain their current position. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana and many southern states gained because they have politically been on the right side to those who ruled New Delhi. Whereas WB after 1970s has always politically been on the wrong side thereby not being able to influence rulers in New Delhi.
2
@naramsaishanmukh1087 today's Gujarat was an under developed state and got lots of concessions from central government like tax holidays, credit at low interest, freight equalization which led to rapid industrialization of states like Gujarat. Withdrawal of these concessions and states running their own economy will see flight of capital and industries from these resource poor states. Haryana is another such example which from an agricultural state has rapidly industrialized due to pressure from central government on companies to invest in Haryana even if it has little infrastructure and resources to support large scale manufacturing.
2
@photography632 north Bengal has a large migrant and immigrant population who number far more than the local Bengalis. This is slowly happening all over Bengal.
2
@photography632 Bangali ke hoi jano na???
2
@irfanss2210 you call rubber, tea, coconut oil, spices as "industries"?? 😆 Tourism, hospitality, health will employ locals and Kerala nurses are found all over India. IT and services in Kerala are nascent in comparison to other states. There are no major industries which will lead to large scale construction. Yes it has one PSU shipyard. Why will anyone migrate to such a state unless they are from a far less industrialized state?
2
@irfanss2210 that's what I am saying why will someone from outside the state settle in a place with no industries? Without employment, how can they survive in a place where language, culture, customs are completely different?
2
@surajs5913 New Delhi to placate TN which wanted to secede from India, pumped money, resources and industries by robbing other states. Except leftist Kerala, rest of the southern states have been in the good books of New Delhi. These states growth and development have been fueled by foreign investments. WB after 34 years of CPIM rule not only de industrialized Bengal due to policies of the communist but also due to stopping of investments in Bengal and siphoning off industries and HQOs from Bengal by the central government in New Delhi. New Delhi has been siphoning off resources, Industries from entire eastern region right from 1947. The politicians of Bengal have been extremely meek and genteel when it came to stopping blatant theft of resources and Industries of Bengal by New Delhi. This is why India needs to be governed as a union of 30 economies where taxes will be raised by the states and only few activities will be governed centrally by representatives of every state of the union and not one political party representing largest ethnic linguistic religious group as is happening till now.
1
@aarshranka if it is rubbish why more people from your state migrate to West Bengal instead of Gujarat? West Bengal receives one of the highest inbound migration particularly from the Hindi states. This is as per central government's statistics.
1
@wisdomhighschool9975 yup corrupt gujjus have corrupted Keralite communists. Shows the influencing powers of gujjus.
1
@aarshranka go to Burra Bazaar of Kolkata and look for yourself. During a celebration, Gujaratis of Kolkata booked entire Eden Gardens stadium. This is only Kolkata. From Darjeeling to Ganga Sagar you will find Marwaris and Gujaratis. You will hardly find any Bengali in Gujarat or Rajasthan.
1
@wisdomhighschool9975 why there are more Gujaratis in Bengal than Bengalis in Gujarat?? If tomorrow India breaks up into 30 economies, Gujarat will become like Somalia as it has no natural resources. This is the reason why Gujaratis are into trading and merchants. Without all that you have spoken about Bengal, Bengal is still #6 economy in India whereas with all that you have spoken about Gujarat it is #5 economy in India. 😆 India is an illegal creation of the British and Marwari Gujarati Parsi business houses profiteering in British India. It has to breakup sooner or later. Let's see who goes where after that. You need to ask yourself the British first set up their factories in Surat and Madras. Bombay presidency of which Surat was a part of and Madras presidency were created before Bengal presidency. You need to ask yourself why the British then choose Kolkata and not Bombay or Madras as the capital of British India??
1
@wisdomhighschool9975 you are a Gujju or member of BJP's IT cell who has started crapping in his pant at the thought of referendum and autonomy of states. 😆 India, is a union of states and not a nation state. The central government has to be built up by representatives of every state in the union of India. The wishes of the masses reigns supreme in a democracy. The day the majority decide upon autonomy will be the day this illegal central government put in place by the British will be abolished and replaced with something truly representative of the diverse people of the subcontinent.
1
@wisdomhighschool9975 those few billionaires have stolen the wealth of Gujarat and made ordinary Gujaratis bhikaris as these health and nutrition data speak of. To become another Netherland, you have to get a highly educated population where innovation can thrive. Merchants are illiterates who buy from one and sell to another without creating anything. Tell me one thing that has been invented by Gujaratis?? Our current PM is a chouthi pass choupat raja.
1
@riderchallenge4250 let's abolish central government and let each state run its own economy. After that we'll see who has been swimming naked. Fact is, the west and southern states got lot of support from the central government often by robbing the resources rich eastern states which is why disgruntlment with the central government is the highest in east and north eastern states.
1
@hj2711 lol! Gujarat has no natural resources except huge coastline closer to the western hemisphere. Due to arid and fallow land which doesn't allows agriculture the masses are into trading and mercantile activities. Due to the arid nature of the region and soil, people willingly sell their lands to industrialists unlike places with fertile soil where no one wants to sell their land no matter how high the price offered. It is generosity of central government and its policies like tax free for investors in states like Gujarat that it received investments. If today we abolish the central government and India is run as a collection of 30 different economies and not as one economy then you'll see which states have been artificially propped up and which had been artificially held back. It is not only West Bengal but entire eastern region has been held back due to centralized rule from New Delhi which is nothing but another form of colonial rule.
1
@wisdomhighschool9975 what you have not mentioned Gujarat and Rajputana aka Rajasthan were allies of the British and played a very big part in East India Company's occupation of British India which didn't include Rajasthan and more than 90% of Gujarat although East India Company first set their factory in Surat. The likes of Tata, Birla made their wealth through the opium trade under the patronage of the British. In other words these companies were the original narcos of their times. Without state patronage whether it was East India Company, British or Dilli Durbar none of these companies based on crony capitalism can survive. Which is the reason why majority of the chors who have looted the PSU banks are Gujaratis. If India is today broken up into 30 differences economies then more than 70% of the crony capitalist companies will collapse. India is a subcontinent and not a nation. It cannot be governed as one artificial nation and one economy.
1
@uglyindian4401 wake up from your slumber. John Barla is a Jharkhandi and Raju Bista is a Nepali from Manipur who can't even give proof of his Indian citizenship. Nowhere will you find foreigners and outsiders demanding separate state. If Nepalis, Jharkhandis and migrants from Burma like Koch Rajbongshi are not happy in Bengal they need to go back to their native land. Foreigners and outsiders will want to rob the rich land of Bengal once their numbers goes up as is happening in North Bengal and soon will happen in areas adjoining Jharkhand Bihar.
1
@AemondTomahawk abe gadhe, domicile ka spelling toh thik se likh. Domicile certificate means you are living in a state for a long duration but you don't become native of that state because you or your forefathers are migrants and immigrants to that state. You don't become bhoomiputra or moolnivasi of that state. By gaining a domicile certificate a Bihari or Gujarati doesn't becomes native of Maharashtra or Punjab similarly a Punjabi or Marathi doesn't becomes a native of Bihar or Gujarat by possessing a domicile certificate. There are Chinese in India who have Indian citizenship but that doesn't makes them natives of India.
1
@gauravdas6741 lol! You think Bengalis have the physique for coolie work?? These are migrants from Assam and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants who perform such jobs. Bengalis are solely into service jobs particularly in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Gurgaon.
1
The why millions from your state are flocking to Bengal and bringing down Bengal in every way? Out of 9 crores population, 2 crores are migrants from Hindi belt in WB. Better go to Gujarat where they literally kick the a$$ of people from your state.
1
@wisdomhighschool9975 yo that's why Gujarat is below Bengal in health and nutrition. Few rich people, doesn't means prosperity for the masses. Mumbai is the best example which is like a huge slum with pockets of affluence. The type of poverty and desperation that exists in Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra is not visible in Bihar Jharkhand let alone Bengal. You need to visit Dharavi right next to Mumbai airport to understand the level of poverty in these places.
