Actually East Pakistan aka Bangladesh used to have higher GDP than West Pakistan prior to 1960s. It is after 1958 coup, economy of West started overtaking the East. Even during 1971, East Pakistan used to earn more than 70% of Pakistan's foreign exchange.

Majority of current Bangladesh infrastructure harks back to when Bangladesh was considered a basket case. But new infrastructure projects are world class and one of the best at least in South Asia. As an Indian I wish all the best to Bangladesh and other countries in the region which includes Pakistan.

@Acts17Apsychopathics what do you expect after the Biharis joined Pakistan Army in genocide of Bengalis in Bengal? Those Biharis who survived the ethnic cleansing were corralled into concentration camps where they live as stateless people unwanted in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India which is actually their native land.

@megda1000 Delhi Mumbai are utter nightmare. Bangalore Pune used to be pensioners paradise before they too went the Mumbai Delhi route. Indore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Surat are small tier two cities which cannot be compared with the metros. Things aren't hunky dory in India. Dhaka and Chittagong have lot of infrastructure problem but the new cities which are coming up are in a different class like Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Pune.

@megda1000 no I haven't but I have checked out few videos about their new projects. I have lived and worked in many big cities in India. Trust me, they are not meant for large population. None of our cities are planned. One heavy downpour leads to water clogging in almost every city.

@Abhay Pratap Singh The Urdu speaking Mohajirs who went from UP Bihar were never accepted in Pakistan. Pakistan actually shut its borders to Indian Muslims right after 1950. Within Pakistan they have a deep sense of inferiority complex. Muslims of foreign ancestry are considered superior to natives who converted to Islam.
