  1. Hussain Suhravardy, who was behind the riots, was not a Bengali but of Iranian origin. Jinnah gave the call for direct action but Muslim League rarely won seats in Bengal or Punjab. If you dig deep, you'll find history is far more complicated than what we have been taught.
