Majority of the opposition ruled states get less than half of what they contribute to the central government. This forces opposition ruled states to take loans to fund their administration. When it comes to disbursement of dues from central government again opposition ruled states are left high and dry.

@ShubhamKumar-lt9ie UP gets two times of what it contributes, Bihar gets 3 times whereas Kerala gets 1/4th and other southern states also get a fraction of what they contribute to the exchequer. Mamata touched upon this wrt WB during latest India Today conclave.

@Kaushal Batavia lol! That's why millions of Gujjus and Rajasthanis go to West Bengal whereas hardly any Bengalis go to these states. Checkout human development index Kerala West Bengal Punjab is far better than any BJP ruled state with malnourished stunted population. LOL

@BG-mi6gq no one needs anything from Maharashtra Gujarat Karnataka let each state run their own affairs with a central government only in charge of defense, currency, communication and foreign affairs as was intended in 1946 cabinet mission plan. Then we will get to know who has been swimming naked all this time.

@harshpasi2957 WB has little more than 2% of India's landmass but contributes 7% towards GDP i.e. #14 in size but #6 in GSDP. So how West Bengal is in economic turmoil??

@Kaushal Batavia Kerala exports spices and coffee which earns them boat loads of money. If South India moves out of India they'll become similar to Malaysia and Indonesia.

@orkkojit that consists of 3 million Nepalis, 20 million Hindi speaking population, 15 million illegal Bangladeshis. There is a large population of Odiyas, Punjabis and Telegus due to which their language has been recognized by the government of WB.

@Kaushal Batavia Government of Hindia gives back only 25% of what it takes from Kerala. What do you expect?? Srilanka dependent on tourism suffered due to covid and bad policies. Fundamentally Srilanka is still strong. Given a chance you will dump your home state and open a shop in Srilanka. 😆 🤣 😂

@harshpasi2957 the report doesn't talks about what % states get out of their contribution to central government. It is a fact BJP ruled states like UP Bihar get 2 to 3 times of what they contribute whereas states like Kerala TN Andhra get far less than what they contribute. In case of Kerala it is 25%. This is why Southern states are mad at the center.
