If India needs to progress, economic power needs to rest with the states. Only defense, communication, currency and foreign affairs needs to be administerd centrally through a nodal agency representing every state of the union and not by one political party representing certain religious, linguistic, ethnic groups belonging to a part of the country.

@pichumanisankar2617 British colonizers also wanted to keep a united India as it is easy to loot the natives. India was not meant to be governed centrally but as a union of autonomous states. This plan known as cabinet mission plan was vehemently opposed by the business houses profiteering under the centralized British rule. Which is why Congress under the pressure from these business houses had to withdraw its consent to the 1946 cabinet mission plan. Congress volte face to cabinet mission plan led to the partition of India and not Hindu Muslim divide which we have been led to believe. 1947 was not independence but transfer of power from the British to the allies of the British in the Indian subcontinent.

@rutvikrs 1) Through divide and rule a foreign masala company called East India Company united empires of Mughals, Marathas, Sikhs etc to create an artificial country for loot. Only 50% of today's India was British India rest were 565 independent kingdoms allied with the British. 2) You are either ignorant or feigning ignorance about demand of Ambedkar for a separate country for the Dalits apart from separate electorate. 3) Shashi Tharoor grew up in Delhi and can speak fluent Hindi. Yet within Congress and in the Dilli Durbari media there's a desperate attempt to paint him as a south Indian who cannot speak Hindi which ironically is a foreign language created by the Turkic Mughals spoken by very few people in the villages of so called Hindi states. 4. How different is KRV from Shiv Sena and DMK?? How different are the views of a Siddaramiah from those of KRV?

@hareshmehta1772 If Congress proceeded with cabinet mission plan acceptable to Jinnah, would there be partition?? At whose behest did Congress pull out of cabinet mission plan after giving their consent?? If Congress proceeded with cabinet mission plan, would there be a call for "Direct Action Day"? Deobandis knew Muslims will become not 2nd class but 3rd class citizens in India as vast majority have to stay in India. If all Muslims went to Pakistan, Pakistan would've collapsed in day one.

@AnkitSharma-ch5yg Have you seen Chennai Express?? How are South Indians portrayed in Hindi movies and serials?? Why aren't there any Adivasi, Dalit, Mizo, Naga etc etc film stars in Bollywood? Could a Marathi Rajnikant gain such name and fame in Bollywood situated in the capital of Maharashtra? I suggest you watch a Marathi movie called "Mee Shivajiraje Bhonsale Boltoy". Even if you don't know Marathi you can still understand what's going on. Chetan Bhagat's Two States novel actually touches upon the north south divide very well.

@amalsooraj4256 Bollywood reflects the perception of South Indians in North India. Real life getting reflected in reel life. Which is why how historical characters are depicted in Bollywood is such a sensitive matter. Which is why several scenes have to be cut or movies renamed. South Indian film Industry imports flop film stars from Bollywood. How many dalit film stars are there in Bollywood in last 75 years?? Isn't this related to the problem of nepotism in Bollywood?

@amalsooraj4256 If you check the DNA of people from different castes you will find they have different DNA. Which means the caste system is a very old system of Apartheid which kept the foreign origin people from mixing with the dark skinned aborigine population.

@amalsooraj4256 OK we leave Bollywood aside, what about utterances of politicians from the Hindi belt about South Indians?? What about TV serials and novels penned by Shobha De, Chetan Bhagat about his own life experience? Modi's caste is forward caste in Gujarat from where he belongs.

@millennialmind9507 British only occupied little more than half of today's India. The other half were 565 independent kingdoms loyal to the British. We need to question the legality of not only central government but also merger 565 kingdoms with British India.
