  1. If more than 70% of the budget goes towards military expenditure, an activity that creates no wealth, that nation is doomed to fail. Pakistan has been treading the same path of USSR since 1947. Prior to 1971, it was looting East Pakistan and was getting massive aid from gulf and Western countries. After 1971, East Pakistan from where Pakistan used to get 70% of its foreign exchange became Bangladesh. With the end of cold war and war in Afghanistan, aid from Western countries also started dwindling. Now economic health of gulf countries is not so good. Hence, aid from gulf countries are also reducing. In other words, today's Pakistan used to be the recruitment ground for colonial British India Army without the economy to sustain the same. Pakistan, is existing on borrowed time.
