@SG India was created by a foreign masala company called East India Company. Prior to arrival of East India Company, there was no country called India at least people of the subcontinent didn't call themselves Indians. Today's India was basically a colony for European powers and they were assisted by the merchants from the subcontinent in the economic exploitation of this region. It is these merchants who became today's industrialists. Whereas in the west, inventors become entrepreneurs and industrialists. We tend to copy whereas the West innovates. This is leading to a closed economy with zero innovation and change. This setup is being perpetuated through centralized rule aka Dilli Durbar which ensures the economy remains hostage to few aka Bombay club. Removal of Dilli Durbar and Bombay club and allowing states to run their economy will be the first step towards India becoming a 10 trillion dollars economy by next decade. If India is at the mercy of Dilli Durbar and Bombay club then we will never go beyond the Hindu rate of growth. India's economic backwardness is purely man made.

One thing is common in all these business houses. The existence of these business houses is largely due to state support. Some going as far as East India Company rule. Without state support many large Indian business houses simply cannot survive. This is the reason why India is so highly protected economy which in turn leads to lack of investments and therefore decades of Hindu rate of growth.
