BJP is not going to do well in Bengal for the simple reason that Modi Shah are afraid of strong regional leaders within BJP who can pose a challenge to Modi Shah hegemony. WB BJP has very weak local leaders as strong BJP leaders have deliberately been marginalized just like Congress did resulting in complete decimation of Congress in West Bengal. West Bengal also has 30% Muslim population who are solidly behind Mamata if not TMC. The Hindu Bengalis are also more left leaning. BJP has support among the large Hindi and Nepali speaking population of West Bengal. In Odisha Jay Panda is a strong capable leader. Odisha has a large tribal population but it is largely Hindu and non tribal who will vote for BJD and not BJP even though Odiyas as a people are extremely religious and devout Hindus. Nationally BJP in the last more than 8 years has been a bigger disaster than UPA2 on every front. Only on the basis of India Pakistan, Hindu Muslim it cannot hope to get elected when the masses are seriously hurting.

@D.K.Singh You are forgetting that India is not one homogenous nation state but a union of diverse states which are nations in their own right. The so called national parties are also defacto regional parties representing certain ethnic, religious, linguistic groups and not the entire union of India. In the future a coalition of regional parties will call the shots. If RJD/JDU/Congress in Bihar, SS/NCP/Congress in Maharashtra can reduce BJP to less than 20 and SP with their allies can limit BJP to less than 40 in UP then BJP will find it extremely difficult to come to power in 2024.

@swamykatragadda8661 regional parties are clones of so called "national parties" beholden to one individual or family. Which is why India, supposedly world's largest democracy falls in the "flawed democracy" category in democracy index.
