@SG Ram is not a pan India diety. Ram was a God King of kingdom of Ayodhaya in today's UP. Outside the Hindi belt, Ram is not worshipped in many places. Contrary to what godi media would want us to believe, outside the Hindi belt Ram temple has little to no effect. PS: How can India's global image improve when India is below African countries in many global indicators and no neighboring country is friendly with India? Why don't you talk about Doklam crisis and Chinese occupation of Bhutanese territory a country supposed to be guarded by Indian army ? Why Bhutan whose foreign policy and affairs is controlled by India has now sidelined India and talking directly to China?

@SG Religion is a personal matter in which government has no role. If government starts dabbling in religion, then how is today's India different from Taliban ruled Afghanistan or Pakistan? Is it the job of the government and opposition to open Mandirs and Masjids? Congress and rest of the opposition did the correct thing by boycotting something that goes against the constitution and the very idea of India.

@kamalsh6123 correct. Religion has no place in government and governance. Our jungli dehati politicians majority of whom have criminal records are bigger threat to India and Indians than China or Pakistan.

@KKL456 not only Dravidians even the Dalits in North venerate Ravan which is why Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan of Bhim Army adds Ravan at the end of his name.
