  1. Ahoms are ethnic Chinese. Real name of Oxom aka undivided Assam is Kamrupa which was a Bengali kingdom. Kamrupa was invaded and occupied by the Chinese Ahoms from Yunnan in 1200 AD followed by Burmese invasion and occupation of north east from 1400 AD to 1800 AD. It is East India Company which invaded Burma in circa 1800 AD and returned these parts of India to india after nearly 600 years of Chinese and Burmese occupation. This is how India's north east ended up with such large mongoloid population who are of Chinese or Burmese origin and have never accepted themselves as Indians. This is the crux of insurgencies in North East and the reason why the government in New Delhi is silent about history of north east.
