I think the next revolution is exploring inner space. Haven't we nearly exhausted the capabilities of our telscopes by peering out into the known material universe, to find nothing but more of the same? Leonard Susskind one of the great professors of theoretical physics even said the universe is homogeneous and homologous. If that's the case we need not look further than our own galaxy. I don't know if a telescope with more resolution is going to do the trick. The next revolution will have to be a breakthrough in science, an instrument that can crack space and time like the shell of an egg and reveal the mysteries inside. I mean really, we're not solving dark matter with higher resolution lol.

Life is what happens while you're planning for the future.

@HamsterPants522 Nuts have protein. If you take raw nuts and soak them for 24 hours, they germinate, release enzymes so they're easily digestable and leave behind very little metabolic waste. I'm not going to judge, because I used to eat meat as well, but I'm just not into eating things with a head, eyes and limbs anymore, just ain't my thing. Especially cooked meat because it putrefies in the GI tract, which leads to a lot of the illnesses that we experience nowadays.
1
I enjoyed his presentation, but in my opinion, he has no evidence for the following conclusions: 1. That our anatomy developed to eat cooked food. 2. That raw food doesn't provide sufficient energy. 3. That cooking made it possible for our environment to develop us.

@bunions4444 A lion is designed to eat animal meat. It can hunt down a gazelle and tear it limb from limb tearing huge chunks of flesh with it's big teeth. Humans were not designed to eat animal meat. We were designed to eat fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. Wanna get healthy, stay away from animal products, sugar and flour. Green herbs remove toxins, fruits provide energy, soaked and culturized nuts provide enzymes and amino acids. That's all you need to survive.

@sexyloser This is just a gut feeling backed up with a little research, but I think the rise in cancer, and it's 1 in 3 people that get it, is due the eating dead meat that's been sitting on the shelf at the supermarket for days or even weeks, that comes from animals that were mass produced to meet the heavy consumption demands of this country. Do you know why lions don't get cancer? They eat raw fresh meat and have a short GI tract. Ours tract is much longer so the meat putrefies in there.
1
@sexyloser I eat raw foods. My diet consists of raw fruits, veggies & soaked nuts. I don't know any raw foodists that get sick, overweight or that visit the doctor regularly. We eat foods with life force, not rotting corpses. On the other side of that you have people who eat traditional diets of cooked foods. 1 in 3 develop cancer, most are overweight and pay the doctor regular visits. They literally pay the doctor! I can't argue with years and years of consistent results.

@Oldenuf The reason SOME vegetarians are skinny is because they don't consume enough fatty acids and protein (which contain amino acids). Fatty acids add healthy fat to your body mass. Amino acids are building blocks and they add mass to your body in the form of muscle, bone and connective tissue. Vegetables don't provide sufficient protein. So a lot vegans actually give up a vegan diet because they get so skinny. Veggies alone don't cut it. That's what nuts and seeds are for.
1
@dragonofthedarknight I won't argue with that!
1
That's deep man. This is probably deep too, and highly speculative, but I've always had this feeling that when we dream at night, we're consciously observing our counterparts from other dimensions.
1
That's an interesting one that I have not heard. The obvious question that comes to mind is what causes an universe to fold in on itself instead of stretching out.
1
I never believed in a multiverse either, but what makes more sense, that our universe is the only one and it sprang into existence out of nothing, or that we are part of a bigger chain of universes that work collectively to give rise to new universes? The multiverse theory makes sense, it seems to solve the mystery of the seemingly impossible big bang. But that begs the question, what started the first universe in the multiverse. I guess its true, the more wisdom we have the less we know.
1
I cannot grasp concepts like infinity, two dimensions, 4+ dimensions. To think that something always has been is mind-boggling. That just doesn't compute with me. One thing is certain, the mystery of life is humbling as hell. I'm not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination, but do you sometimes think that some of these theories are as outlandish or even more so than the idea of a God?
1
The title of the video should read, "we live in this universe because it is fine tuned for life" just sayin'
1
I think it's kind of cool

@ruckenfigur I'm quoting a very well known physicist. I agree with his quote to certain extent though I don't fully share his cynicism. Biologically speaking, yes, we're fundamentally a swarm of chemical reactions on the face of a planet. The speaker is a reductionist, speaks in absolutes and he's annoying as are most reductionists that assume things are very cut and dry. But the thing is, we don't know anything. UFOs, ghosts, souls, etc may or may not be real. No one knows.
1
We're just chemical scum on the face of a typical planet. What do we know? Nothing.
1
Nuero scientists develop MSRI's like zoloft, paxil and prozac that turn kids into suicidal maniacs, just sayin'
1
If by "work" you mean they make you brain dead, then yes, they work. I think all the shootings associated with these medications is indicative of how little we understand consciousness and the human mind. MSRI's should be banned.
1
She's cute. Was was the whole talk about?
1
I think we're on the same page, more or less. The number of people who actually "require" MSRi's in society is a very narrow sliver compared to the amount number of kids who are on them. And I highly doubt it's by accident. The pharmaceutical industry has shareholders. And if you're a shareholder in a company, you only care about one thing. Good parenting is very important. But, in this case, I think the industry itself is to blame. They're manipulating people with propaganda for profit.

Works for me. Cya.

Which is, my body or my awareness?

people love repeating words that makes them sound intelligent but don't actually understand.

He's entitled to his opinion. You can't debate with a comment like that, I take it purely as entertainment.
1
If you don't like it, leave. I can share my thoughts and opinions on this open fourm without having to worry about people like you threatening me with insults and aggresive behavior. I haven't insulted anyone. Being insulted by you purely for sharing my views is a reflection of your problem, not mine.
1
The result of this technological age is the death of the human soul and nature.
1
Between the lines. It's a figurative death. For example, the drone-like behavior you seen in many Westeners.
1
Let me guess, you're single?
1
whatever you say angry little man
1
Computer's aren't evil. That's not what he's saying at all. He's more concerned about the effect computers will have on the human mind.

I think this rotten huckster is trying to pitch a sale to big media corporations like comcast for fiber optic cable.
1
@adj789 All of it. Come on man. Have you flown over the gulf and saw with your own eyes that the spill is almost gone? Most of it is under water. But what's funny about your comment is that even when the oil is visibly gone, it's impact on the environment will last for decades. Some animals might go extinct because of it, and coral reef that has been forming for 1000's of years will be wiped out completely when all said and done. The damage hasn't even begun yet.
1
If oceans are central to the quality of life on Earth, then BP just knocked the quality down a few notches.
1
So many people just got trolled
1
@adj789 Don't make me laugh.
1
The surface area of a lung is about the half the size of a football field.
1
I don't understand why people get sidetracked by the word "God." It's just a word. But let me ask you this, do you people believe in some kind of lifeforce in this universe that we don't fully understand?
1
@d00m0racl3 Have you ever heard the saying, "the universe is stranger than you CAN suppose?" The universe might not require an omniescent force, but you can't rule that out because we have no way of knowing. Mandelbrot doesn't talk about mind. Mind is a focus that is lacking, at least in the expression that we experience, in the rest of nature. How long do you suppose consciousness has been around? That's what we pour into the contemplation of our experience.
1
If Bill Gates could spend $1 million dollars every single freaking day, after 80 years, that would only eat up half his fortune. The only reasonable solution is to give it away. But don't let this greedy bastard fool you into thinking he gives away his fortune out of the niceness of his heart.

The age of youtube idiots.

+mosse matters it's the only thing they're good at anymore
1
Who's in charge of government? Old people. What do old people know about technology? Nothing. The first step in finding a solution is recognizing the problem.
1
Ayahuasca baby!
1
People who want to be rich and famous and do something great, leave a legacy behind and all this stuff just have a huge ego that needs to be stroked.
1
Life is really something. So this is good supporting evidence for the idea of a multiverse. The funny thing is that as our understanding deepens, so does the mystery.
1
@YawnGod I was very frustrated when all this SOPA stuff went down and my grandma asked me what's wrong, so I sent her a link, she wrote back to me saying, "I don't get it, what do they have against soap?"
