  4. Kinda doubt Google will care too much if they have to give up Chrome. My guess is that, depending on how they do their accounting, it actually loses them money, but it's worth having around to exert influence in setting the "reference" browser implementation (though maybe I'm grossly underestimating the amount of telemetry they collect and sell). In any case, given the centrality of Edge on Windows, it seems like Microsol will naturally exert more control over Chromium, whether they officially buy Chrome or not, and that's not historically been a good thing.
