@limitlessapocalypse2702 In the case when Judicial Watch took Bill Clinton to court over just such a question, the court ruled that any documents in the hands of a former president are to be deemed declassified without restriction. Yes, without restriction. Therefore, there is no requirement for Trump to formally declassify anything; the fact that he had them in his possession makes them automatically declassified. The court was probably trying to cover Clinton's hiney, but set a precedent that they have to abide by now.

@limitlessapocalypse2702 Why, do you think that couldn't actually happen? My brother-in-law worked as an international human rights lawyer for the State Department for 35 years and just retired. The stories he tells about how classified documents are treated by his colleagues would make your hair stand on end.

@charlesvan13 I thought that was the point of the comment. As in, Democrats have a habit of treating classified documents the same as old magazines piled up in the garage.
