  1. ​ @digitalis2977  You would be surprised how many "exotic" spices were commonly used in the American colonies. Have you watched Townsends? His recipes are original to the 18th century. There are other people who make videos about cooking with original 18th century recipes.

  2. HFCS isn't used in home-made food, just in manufactured food. Have you ever tried to buy high fructose corn syrup at the grocery store?
