Trump might as well nominate someone as straight-arrow and pro-Constitution as he can find, because even if he chose a rabid leftist, the Democrats would still scream like banshees and block. What's the point? Did you know that Trump has been packing the lower courts with conservatives at light speed? He's appointed more judges in two years than both Bush and Obama did in 16 years. Why waste the opportunity? There won't be any more civil strife than there has been already. I say bring it; it's way past time that we put these totalitarians where they belong, and take that as you will.

So? They went so far off the deep end with Kavanaugh that they ended up permanently alienating a lot of nominal Democrats, and a lot of people who were on the fence finally registered Republican. I did. A lot of people like me realized that voting Democrat was voting for batshit crazy and walked away.
