As a matter of fact, many, if not most, parks are still open. The government-funded visitor centers are closed, and ranger services are limited, but the roads are still open. In large parks like Yellowstone, hotels and restaurants are privately owned, so they're still running. There's an article I found this morning about how park visitation is thriving. Obama is the one who tried to cut off access to the parks completely (as much as he could), even putting up barriers so that people couldn't even see them from the road, but that wasn't normal. That was psychotic.

@theshocker4626 Correct. Most of the large parks are still open, even though the federally funded visitor centers are closed ( who cares?). It was only that psycho Obama who tried to block all access to national parks during shutdowns.

@overcomerbtboj The government is never completely shut down. As a matter of fact, the articles are saying that 25% of the government is shut down, and that's the most I've ever known to happen, and I'm 63. So, the parks should be shut down to largest extent they've ever been, but they aren't, because Trump isn't psychotic. Visitor centers are closed, and so are historic homes of past presidents, etc. What kind of building did you work in?

@overcomerbtboj The President, as the boss of the agencies, has a lot of discretion over what's affected. Trump is a businessman and a pragmatist, which is exactly why I supported him for the job.
