Not to mention a plant that the Russians themselves are occupying. Why would the Russians shell themselves on purpose?

@ramo2377 The west not only saw it coming, they deliberately incited it. Renaissance Horizon posted a video of a meeting between Senators McCain and Graham with Ukraine in 2016 in which they told Ukraine to provoke Putin aggressively in order to start a war and that "we'll back you with everything we've got." However, nobody in western politics seems to have had the smallest understanding of how far Russia has come since the Soviet Union fell, or even since 2012. Putin spent a decade fortifying Russia against the possibility of western sanctions again. He made Russia almost entirely self-sufficient and highly industrialized. Quite obviously, the west paid no attention to how dependent we had become on Russian products, particularly farm fertilizer and natural gas. I can't help but think that western arrogance is to blame. We in the west, particularly the EU, are probably going to pay an enormous price for it.

@crhu319 Can democracy ensure access to sufficient food, housing, etc.? To a point, but only honest democracy. The US no longer has honest democracy; it's rigged, and the so-called Democrats bragged about rigging it, and that isn't counting the unelected bureaucrats who really run things. Canada, I suspect, has a similar problem. The EU is held hostage by the group of unelected morons in Brussels.
