@CG-kf5vh The point is, why would anyone trust a Spanish source about Russian oil policy? If you aren't hearing it from Russia or India, the two countries involved, I wouldn't give it credence.

@honzo1078 I'm not seeing that. Successful corporations are smarter than that. European countries have little choice in buying Russian oil one way or another, so they don't have the real capability of forcing Russia to accept a lower price for their oil, whereas Russia has options. It's a sellers market, not a buyer's market. Corporations know how that works; Yellen obviously doesn't.

You go from energy independence to energy dependence by shutting down the pipeline, shutting down oil drilling. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that.

Ukraine exports account for 9% of the world's wheat supply and Russia accounts for 19%. Together, that's 28% of the global wheat market. How is that not going to hit hard, especially in countries sanctioning Russia? Ukraine also exports 14% of the global corn market. There's no way to put a good spin on this, especially for the west.

Does Yellen have Alzheimer's? That's a serious question. What does she think that countries are going to do when Russia tells them to pound sand with their price cap? I can just see the guys at the Kremlin rolling their eyes.
