  2. That $125 was a blip, if you look at the charts for the past five years. ~$50-55/barrel is pretty normal for Russian oil. Up to now, Russia hasn't made a practice of taking advantage of their ability to produce enormous amounts of oil; it looks like the oil caps are going to backfire on the west in a big way.

  3. Are you sure it wasn't a lag between gas already at the pump and a new high price for oil? The price of the product doesn't immediately reflect 100% the rise or lowering of the cost of the resources.
