  1.  audrey pard  Meghan has to pay both UK and US taxes because UK law says that if you're a resident for more than 90 days, you have to pay UK taxes, as well. Also since she's applying for British citizenship, she'll have to pay British income taxes on her global income for the rest of her life. Their move to Canada puts an additional tax burden on both her and Harry, because Canadian tax law requires all residents to pay income taxes on their global income if the spend at least 180 days in Canada. She and Harry could very well end up paying much more in taxes than they make.
