I would be very surprised. I follow several channels of regular Russian people who film on the street. Most of the young people are pretty satisfied. They aren't suffering. They have no reason to rebel. They're interested in partying and dancing, not armed rebellion.

Also, everything you accused Russia of doing is actually being done by Ukraine, according to the people living in the area. Ukraine has been flattening civilian towns since 2014. There are news clips by French media still on YouTube showing the shelling, videos going back at least 7 years. For the Russians, this is a rescue mission. Ukraine is the bad guy here, not Russia. You don't have to take my word for it; search YouTube for videos on the shelling of Donetsk by Ukraine.

Putin doesn't lie. He doesn't bother to lie. However, the west has lied to Russia for decades. The entire treaty between Russia and Ukraine was nothing but a lie on the part of Germany, who brokered it, and Ukraine. They never intended to maintain Ukraine neutrality. Germany has even admitted it.

Russia will need more than an overture from Zelensky. Putin and Zelensky had been on the verge of an agreement back in March, but Biden and Boris Johnson put a stop to it. What is to prevent that from happening again, especially with the US and NATO ramping up the rhetoric and promises of troops and weapons?

@yelenaangeleski3354 Don't bet on it. Putin doesn't bluff and he doesn't lie. He doesn't bother to lie. He's been planning for this for many years, unlike the west, who kept saying, continue to think, that Russia is a joke. Westerners in general, and especially the politicians, have paid no attention whatsoever to the Russian leap toward self-sufficiency, industrialization, and a position as one of the world's leading exporters of petroleum products, food, steel, rare minerals used in electronics, farm fertilizer, and more. That inattention has come back to bite the entire western world on the backside. It caused them to badly miscalculate the effects of sanctions on both Russia and on western countries, since the effects proved to be exactly the opposite of what the west expected.

The only thing that Ukraine will gain by hitting civilian targets again and again is an increase in the Russians' determination, if that's possible. I believe that's what Putin meant when referred to a closing window of opportunity for negotiation.

The entire west is delusional. We keep promising all of these weapons, but how could our countries possibly supply them? We can't even supply little Taiwan with the weapons they had already ordered until 2024, at least. They were expecting those weapons this spring. We are tapped out. Europe is tapped out. And we have no way to make more weapons at the rate that Ukraine is demanding. We get most of our steel from China, and I don't see China cooperating. We no longer have the manufacturing base to ramp up production to that extent. Europe is shutting down its manufacturing. Western politicians and NATO are living in a fantasy world.
