  2. Dave's covered most of it. Plus, this fosters skills such as drone flying, electrical engineering and coding (however little the latter to may be involved; it's a damn hobby). It also serves as recreation for the soldiers who participate and all the brings with it (inter-services camaraderie, mental well-being, mental nourishment), as well as gives the armed forces another face to the public.
