  1. Academics should not use their fame & influence for political ends. When they do so public are free to castigate such figures and take action as needed.

  2. Amartya Sen should be tried in court for mismanaging the university and misuse of funds. There are thousands of teachers just making ends meet, dedicating their lives for educating others. Its a slap in their faces to be shown examples like Sen, a so called nobel laureate, drawing public money as salary while living abroad, and abusing his position to return political favours to help Manmohan Singh's family.
