Before putin invaded he should have known - 1) the invasion was not going to work and 2) facing failure russia would be forced to look at the nuclear option. 3_ in that sense nuclear weapons screwed russia - because without them - putin would have never invdaded in the first place - they gave putin a false sense of power - that he does not have and encouraged stupid and bad decision making. 4) Prior to Invasion ALL of the Western World, Chinaand India told putin - DO NOT Invade. It is a stupid idea. and putin invaded anyway. And that is the definition of stupid.
