Americans can't seem to stomach the idea that they need to recognize someone who did more or better than they did, can they? Nevermind the fact that Hitler took direct inspiration from the US government for the Holocaust. Don't throw stones from a glass house.

@captain_duck0o084 It wasn't for being German. It was for their husbands, fathers, and brothers r*ping Soviets. Their nationality wasn't the deciding factor; it was their actions.

@okidokiliteratureclub706 Would've happened either way, the Soviets were about to invade and the Americans did not want them at the negotiating table. If the Soviets got access to Hokkaido, it'd have been impossible to do containment later on. It's all a big game, my friend, the Anglos have been repeating the same strategy forever

@liriani Nothing wrong with either- the difference is, Russian media is openly state-backed, whereas the American 'independent media' claims to be more trustworthy, and therefore safer to watch. They could be toeing the government line while lying to viewers about their agenda, to get more people to watch and believe what they say. They need to be called out, since they're the ones claiming to be free and independent.

@WESAVEDTHELEFT1863 The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria invaded southern Russia in August 1999, and declared Islamic holy war. They were backed by Saudi Arabia. Or, did you forget that it wasn't just "Russia bad!!" ? Also this was after the fall of the USSR, so communism was not an ideological reason there
