Well I can say with some conviction that the style of the 2000's was undoubtedly techno/neon- the re-release of Tron, the huge surge in EDM and dubstep, the explosion of the Internet around the world... it just takes time to tell. I think the design of the '10's has been a mix of techno (leftover from last decade) and a return to older materials and styles (vinyl is coming back, lots of artists are using real instruments again, BIFL is a popular thing now, hipsters and veganism- ugh- became a thing). Not sure about the '20's though because they kind of haven't happened yet lol.
