I'm sure they did, but they can't protest effectively without power. Same reason why unions exist: you can argue and even band together for fair wages, but only when you pool your money behind it will the boss listen. This is America. No money, no help for you.

I'll vouch for him. It hurts them by isolating them and reducing their influence. Black people in the U.S. have always had less money and political power to throw around (see: slavery. Also see: smaller numbers), so their only way out of poverty is integration. They tried 'separate but equal' (for real), but it got destroyed by racists. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwood,_Tulsa If white people flock to the suburbs, and black people are forced to stay in cities, even if they had the money to leave (redlining), they're more likely to have their neighborhoods harassed and/or destroyed (see: the video).

Nope, most of Europe today (save a few really old, politically neutral cities) were built in the 1700's and 1800's/ Paris was redesigned almost completely redesigned in 1853. Same with Eastern Europe and Germany following World War II. Spain, Italy, and Greece took less damage, hence their very 'homely' cities, but most modern European cities are planned. Even the "old town square."

@whitexicano2597 ...Why? A city is meant to be lived in, why would you bulldoze extremely valuable property just so some dope with a car can commute into the city center (oh wait, we just bulldozed that!) a little bit faster? The suburban residents wouldn't have anywhere to drive to if the city took a backseat to the roads. And right turns on red do make traffic flow more smoothly.. it also kills more people.

Russia might not (sad but true), but China will. There is a cap when weighing cost of maintenance vs. number of people (revenue), and China has definitely gone past that. There are enough people in enough places to keep their industry very profitable. Also, Russia's metro has been working for decades, and I don't know many Russians who would be comfortable turning their country into a highway, as the U.S. has largely done. It may cost money, but it's more than worth it (historically, and culturally).
