Sure, but infrastructure today is inexorably tied with the economy- i.e. the demands of the masses. Renaissance architecture and art was funded largely by royalty, wealthy patrons, and Italy's exclusive access to the Persian Empire (which also meant imported things from China, when it was still the ruler of the world). The U.S. hates (non-military) wasteful spending, has no royalty, and last time I checked we are nowhere near Iran. China still makes all of our stuff though, but I wouldn't count on any of it for long-lasting structures...

Sorry to butt in- I had no idea the Greeks used cut stone to make their buildings! Seems almost Herculean when we think of building with machines today... Also, we can totally build those types of buildings with concrete, especially since the University of Utah recently discovered how to make actual Roman concrete again- it hardens over time and while rapid housing replacement wouldn't contribute to the economy like it does currently, a lot of money could be siphoned away (that is, saved) from replacing millions of MDF-built subdivisions every few decades into more needed areas. I know that's more economy then civil engineering, but if the Romans could do it, why can't we? Especially with our modern tech!

One of the post-USSR's success stories, backsliding? Then I suppose Turkey or Venezuela are just as uninteresting, by the same token. Better yet, don't watch Vox at all. Most of their topics are obscure after all, but apparently that's why they're boring /s
