Not really. It's incredibly rare among Japanese. It's mostly wannabe types who are looking to be something special...

@theONE-ws8lh The only truth of the matter is there are more Muslims because there are more foreigners such as Kurds…who have been causing lots of problems and have further ingrained the majority of Japanese dislike of other cultures within their communities. The only converts are lonely people desperate for any human connection and 30 something women who have been passed over by Japanese men. Most Japanese find religions like Christianity and Islam off putting. That’s simply the truth.

@theONE-ws8lh It's true that there are more muslim immigrants. Kurds for example. It's not true that it's taking hold among the Japanese population
