@ORRadtech Leaking, and then the thread corroded out, and the sensor fell out. Thus no thread really in the hole.

That was probably 1/8 NPT originally, there for either EGT sensor, or for a pressure gauge to measure turbo inlet pressure. so you have to go larger, which would by me probably be going to M10, though to fill the hole for the weld just a M10 bolt put in the existing hole, ground off flush, and then welded, would have worked well.

Exactly, tap the hole to next size, put in bolt. Take bolt half way in depth of hole and use a punch to put a few divots in the thread, so it will never come loose again. Put in with some high temp sealer, which will carbonise and fill the gaps, and cut off flush. Stainless steel if you want to have it gall in there forever as well.

You can see the last battery change on passenger side they lost a bolt.......
