  4.  @JakeBroe  Taking Taiwan though would allow the Chinese Navy to break through the "first island chain", while taking the Russian Far East wouldn't. I'm sure that the US would greenlight Japan to retake Sakhalin oblast (or Karafuto and Chishima as the Japanese call it) before the Chinese could take it.

  9.  @hughjazz64  I thought the Irish were generally very pro-Ukraine, often likening the Ukrainian Holodomor to the 19th-century Irish potato famine. Where Ireland is outside the Western mainstream is that they tend to side with Palestine over Israel.
