  2. ​ @carolwilliams8511  Why would Hamas (which claims to represent the overwhelmingly non-Shi'a Palestinians: the minority who aren't Sunni are mostly Christians) have allowed itself to become dependent on the overwhelmingly Shi'a Iran? And for that matter, what does Iran get out of its enmity to Israel? Shi'a Iran can't realistically claim to be the leader of the (overwhelmingly Sunni) wider Muslim world, and it can hardly take Israeli territory when there's hundreds of miles of Arab land in the way! There's no obvious commonality of interests, unlike Iranian support for Shi'a terrorist groups like Hezbollah and the Houthis...
