@xcrockery8080 Surely if British ground-based air defences in 1940 were more dangerous to their own people than to the Germans, it was because of the limitations of technology at the time? The invention of the proximity fuze meant that by 1944 (when the Nazis started launching V-1 flying bombs at London) the British defences were far more effective.

@Wilko11 Australia's immigration policy (much like Canada's) isn't designed to limit overall numbers so much as to exclude uneducated immigrants who would be a burden on society (the famous "points system").

@xcrockery8080 I presume that by "pro-genocide" you mean anti-Israel: are you advocating that Australia (and presumably other Western countries) should explicitly ban Muslim immigration?

@mikoto7693 Yup -- at least we in the UK don't have a strong pro-Russia fifth column in our country.

@AstroGremlinAmerican Australia also has no land borders, or even (unlike the UK) sufficient proximity to a neighbouring landmass to make crossings by makeshift boats feasible. This (along with having no truck-borne RoRo international trade, due to their remoteness) is why they and New Zealand were able to pursue a Zero Covid policy in 2020.
