Note that the USSR was the only country to be actually kicked out of the old League of Nations (in 1939 for invading Finland) as opposed to leaving voluntarily like the other aggressor nations did.

@pupper5580 Something like that was what the Minsk Agreements were all about: Russia at the time was seeking to smuggle its puppet DPR and LPR back into Ukraine in such a way that they could have veto power over Ukraine's foreign policy (and for example prevent them from joining NATO or the EU).

@davidbilich1708 Where it belongs.

And Crimea (being majority Russian in population) was very much analogous to the Sudetenland in 1938.
2
@pupper5580 I'd still say the old League of Nations was fundamentally weaker because: 1) the United States was never a member, and 2) much of the world was under colonial rule at the time.
2
And Germany wasn't allowed to keep all its 1937 territory either: it lost everything east of the Oder and Neisse rivers along with Stettin (now Polish Szczecin).

@JakeBroe Elon Musk did more than anyone else to make EVs (Tesla!) an object of aspiration, which was likely why Putin targeted him (as EVs are a threat to the power of petrostates generally). He was likely influenced by Putin-financed fake billionaires posing as Silicon Valley VCs, who took advantage of Elon's monstrous ego to trick him into destroying himself.

@TheWokeWarlock Although "Krasnodar" means "Gift of the Reds" so it would need renaming, and the previous name "Katerynodar" isn't suitable either as it honours Catherine the Great. I'd suggest perhaps "Kozakodar"?

@pjhgerlach That's the aspiration of Palestinians: the equivalent for Ukrainians is either "from the San to the Don" or "from the San to the Caucasus".
1
@rvarsigfusson6163 Although a lot of Ukrainians settled in that part of far-eastern Russia, to the extent that some advocated it become a new country called "Green Ukraine".
1
@romanplays1 Actually the current Russo-Chinese border was established in 1860.
1
@rvarsigfusson6163 The Ukrainian settlement in Outer Manchuria took place during the Tsarist era, not after 2014, and the creation of "Green Ukraine" was attempted during the Russian Civil War.

Did Chamberlain actually believe Hitler, or was he just buying time to rearm after Hitler had got the jump on the democracies thru massive deficit spending?
1
@berlinkozyreva Donbas residents mostly speak Russian, but that doesn't make them actually be Russian any more than Irish people who speak English are English.

A warship that is now at the bottom of the Black Sea where it belongs.
