Iām so happy you and your family are able to stay in Hawaii. There are more native Hawaiians living on the mainland than the islands. I meet them in the Pacific Northwest and Las Vegas. Itās the only way they can afford homes and land.

There is a waterfall here that is sacred to the natives- Snoqualmie Falls. You can sense the energy there if you hike in to the bottom of it.

They probably delivered help there. Itās across the water from Lahaina.

Iāve read that they preserve the oldest form of the olelo. Language.

It would have been covered with buildings and polluted. Like Manhattan.

The language is available to learn on YouTube. Duolingo is an app that teaches some of it for free.

Check out Ka Piko Kaiao program , part of Ke Kula āo Piāilani - an immersion school in the IAo Valley. There is also the Maui Arts and Culture Center. Volunteering with cultural groups will help you learn a lot and make friends. Iām jealous you are able to live there. Alohašŗ

I hope she gets your message. I remember many years ago visiting a friend who was working on Nantucket. We went to a local place to have a drink and go dancing. I noticed this unusual-looking man and was so happy he asked me to dance. I blurted out how handsome I thought he was. He replied that no one had ever said that, no one thought a native Hawaiian was attractive. He was there on Nantucket working. Anyway- he gave me his motherās number in Hawaii ( this is before cellphones) and hoped we would meet again someday. I lost the number on the ferry And I still think of him. Itās like that song- thereās always someone haunting someone haunting someoneā¦ Maybe he remembers a skinny girl with long auburn hair.

Happening in many places, unfortunately. And for a long time. I had to leave my home town like many others.

Could have been from a reaction to a tick bite. There are solutions if you look. The body wants to heal. I would help you research if you want. I wonāt get notification if you reply here but just Leave a comment under any video of mine. Iāll find it. šŗ I also lost a place to fire.

There was an indigenous Vice President - mainland tribes. Charles Curtis- Kaw/ Potawatomi/ Osage If you had a Hawaiian running for President now, it would be one of those professional political grifters, not a wise elder like this man. Not much Hawaiian about Obama. Privileged upbringing, no native genes, doesnāt speak the language.

I am too.

I remember meeting some of those people there when I was 18. That was the most memorable part of Florida for me, the back country.
