  1.  @dugclrk  you can park here and share the cottage area with us. It ain’t fancy. Seattle area. You can find work, save up to buy a few acres in eastern Washington. We had a guy here for a few months, he just wanted to stay in his truck, used the gym for showers. We ran an electric cord to him. He was mostly gone working, saved up for land.

  4. Check into small wood stove that you can put inside the fireplace. Something with a highEPA rating that burns the gases. Leaves no smoke to come out the top. The Grizzly or the Minicube. I’m sure European manufacturers have some great little ones.

  5. I lived in my van— no heater. For warmth I had a thick plush-type blanket underneath with flannel sheets , a down comforter on top. It warmed up right away when I got in. Knit cap. Reflectix cut outs for the windows. I set up everything for the night before I got to where I would park. I had a one burner stove. I’d boil enough water to fill a big thermos that would last for hours to make coffee, tea or cocoa. When I wasn’t at work, I would hang out at the library or the gym ( $10 a month plan). I juiced up my chargers at the library while I was reading —I got a bunch of them for free. Good luck. You are gonna love it. The first few days feel weird until you get a system going. I was never bothered by anyone except when I was parked in front of my aunt’s million dollar home and the neighbors called the cops. 😂

  6. This reminded me of going to a remote ranch in northern Montana with a group to work and learn, an hour from the nearest tiny town. No cell service. No cable. No tv. No radio. Some people couldn’t endure it, the quiet, the isolation. They called it God-forsaken. Those were some of my favorite times.

  10. Is it possible to volunteer at a food bank? There is always plenty of veggies and bread and dairy left at the end of the day.
