  3. I love specialty shops, stationeries, antiques, used bookstores, print shops. I used to be able to find anything in NYC at these tiny independent shops- like bookbinding supplies and special paints. I miss that.

  9. I was trying to help a friend find a new rental because the house is being sold. To get a house 3 blocks away , same size, is double the cost- $2800, not counting utilities. And she must show proof of monthly income of 3 times that amount. Just imagine a young family trying to make it and to save to buy a home someday.
