  1. Using adhesive usually something like PL400, it also decreases floor squeaks. with the amount of nails he put in, I dont think squeaking will be an issue. A lot of time we use tongue and groove subfloor plus adhesive and screws every 6". but thats over kill. material is so expensive nowadays.
