"I didn't have a piece, so I took off..." = the most New Jersey-ish logic ever.

Lesson here: record everything in the workplace. I've done it for years. If no satisfaction, bring it to the media and/or your state AG's office.

@yadadoo20 - Because they are made up mainly of rural areas that aren't suited for people in a majority of circumstances. There is nothing wrong with those places, it just isn't a good fit for most people to move unless you have a specific skillset that gels with the industries/economies located there. Plus, if you are in the media business, you need large markets and access to a certain level of tech infrastructure. Texas has all that, natural beauty, a variety of landscapes, and low taxes, and a great economy. It's a no brainer as well as people don't take their horrendous voting booth behavior with them.

It's the same in NJ. There is no middle class there anymore – just ultra-rich people who grudgingly deal with the taxes and ultra poor people who receive gargantuan amounts of services from the government. All the businesses have moved out, there are no good jobs. Unless you are a Wall Street banker who commutes to NYC, you're going to end up in a dead-end service industry job. The best thing I ever did in my entire life was decide to move away from that hell on Earth.

I suppose that's true, but it actually is kind of a credit to him for having smart guests with such a wide range of opinions on the show. The reason I listen is because he has people from all sides who usually come up with good arguments for how they feel, but also recognize the bad parts of "their" side.

Ahh, more systems for the corrupt Democrats to manipulate. My favorite version is the one where an AI algorithm determines who you "probably" would have voted for. And what do you know – in the only placed it was used, it cost a Republican a House seat. Funny how these "new and improved" voting methods always just happen to benefit one party. States can screw around all they want (California, NY and NJ are chasing people out left and right) , but federal elections should come with universal rules requiring an in-person vote and proper ID so Democrats cannot steal national elections.

@gustavmaia - Labor unions and mafia work in strikingly similar fashions. That is ultimately where these policies begin – with unions who pay millions to leverage their membership as a voting bloc to put Democrats in office. Then, the inspectors (members of a public employee union) come along and require city-approved companies to install tile. Guess who's staffing those companies? Members of the private sector unions who also paid off the Democrats in charge. I'm using the "tile example" as just that, an example, but it applies in countless other situations as well. Trying to run a business in a blue state is an exercise in futility. I moved from New Jersey to the Tampa area and thrive here.

@mrzed2349 - Having visited most of South America, including the favelas, Camden is the closest I've ever seen in the U.S. in terms of outright danger. And like Brazil, very wealthy towns are a few minutes away. I'm glad I do not live in NJ anymore.

It's basically the most divided the US has been since the civil war. He's supposed to ignore reality and talk about someone's new Netflix special? People listen to Joe for interesting conversations, even if it's not with a supposed "expert." That's something you can't get anywhere else.

But what is the root cause of the "bad" schools. NYC spends just under $30,000 per student. Some of the worst school districts in my state spend even more than that. Defunding the police and sending it to "education" is essentially transferring money from the police union to the teachers union. We are already funding the equivalent of a year in college for grade-school kids in the inner city and it just doesn't produce any statistically significant result. I'd love to hear a genuine answer as to why. I'm white, I don't live in the inner city and probably never will. I have no understanding of it, except to see that throwing money at the problem isn't the answer.

@yadadoo20 - In NJ we had horrific hospitals and a few great ones. The great ones, which are only open to those with Cadillac insurance plans, are so great that they raise the national rankings. Same with schools – a few districts where every kid comes from a millionaire family are so high-performing, they make up for the decrepit cities and drug-addled suburbs that represent the entire state outside of the ring around NYC and Philadelphia. It's a big myth that states like NJ and CA are intellectually superior to others or have a better style of living. Also, my understanding from people who have kids and move to areas where there are underperforming schools districts is that a family can afford a private school and still come out ahead given the tax decrease.

@zubair-xj5mn - No, a limited number of regions in "blue" states that have outrageously high incomes from Wall Street and Silicon Valley pay such a gargantuan amount in federal income taxes that they make an entire state appear as if it is contributing more than it is. If these states are so productive, why are most of them in financial free-fall, near insolvency, losing revenue and seeing employers and residents move out? Liberals love to throw out narrow stats with no context, then walk away from what is a much larger discussion.

jon nunes - Well, they're taking pot shots at helos in a hover. That's not overly difficult. If they had Stingers or Igla-S, we'd have an actual militarized op.

jon nunes - Wow, you're mad... for some reason. I've spent some time in Brazil... the good, the bad, the ugly. Same with most of Latin America. I'm not sure what you're even disagreeing with me on. I understand the pacification of the favelas is militaristic, but if you think it's a "war zone," I have my doubts that you've ever actually experienced an actual war zone.

Ahh, the old "well he's not a dementia patient and he's not quite as much of a raving communist lunatic as the others, so why not" choice. Gimme a break. If Tulsi was in, I'd think twice. Although electing even a moderate Democrat empowers the remainder of the party, which is slightly to the left of Chairman Mao these days.

Revealing "sources and methods" are illegal even after you leave. Exposing election fraud in the U.S., theoretically, would reveal "methods" if you had first-hand knowledge that the intelligence community was somehow involved. Of course we're getting into conspiracy theories now. If this election was stolen, it was stolen by good ol' fashioned ballot-stuffing just like they did at Tammany Hall. Truthfully, I have no clue who legitimately won that election. We never will.

In theory, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to test out a vaccine on reporters who are out in public covering the story every day. They're one of the few groups of people who are out and about and dealing with other people on a constant basis.
