  1. Why would the Japanese youth care that their population is in decline? Everything in Japan is exceedingly competitive because of their massive population. You spend so much time competing for educational spots, jobs, finding a place to live etc. That you barely have time or energy to just be able to... You know, "live". If the japanese population was cut down to a third of what it is now, the quality of life for young japanese citizens would improve significantly since they would'nt have to compete as hard in order to get a decenr job since there would be a shortage in the workforce.
