  2. The 'PubCo' business model includes an aspect that should be mentioned. One of its main income streams consists in attracting people to invest thousands of pounds to become pub managers. Having paid their money and undergone a course of training, new entrants are given a pub to manage. This pub is usually a poorly performing one. Many of the newbies fail at this first stage and unable to improve sales, choose to leave, losing all the money they had put-up. Those who manage to make a go of their pub, find themselves quickly confronted with higher rents to rake-off much of their improved figures. If they manage to rise above that and still improve sales then the same thing happens until they realise they are being had. Same result: they pack it in, leaving all their money with the PubCo. . It's a very cynical trade practice. These companies are run by arse-wipes.
