"...because we don't buy fertilizer and we don't buy foreign grain" As if the price of domestic fertilizer weren't impacted by the international market! As if the grain he feeds his animals weren't grown with fertilizer! What a dishonest starting point to his argument!

@Firevine No, he's not. Where do you get that idea? Not too many years ago he was buying the grain he feeds his animals through Sunrise Farms (which isn't growing its own grain either but is a business that buys and resells grain and grain mixes) in Stuarts Draft, VA, and he probably still is, but in any case Salatin surely didn't suddenly start growing his own feed grains.
