There has never even been on "Indian country" in the course of history The lands that are part of "India" right now has always been simultaneously ruled by multiple kingdoms at any one time It was the British who defeated every single one of these kingdoms and stole their land and combined it all into one giant colony It's the reason why till today India doesn't even have a national language The Indian government even corresponds with some states in India using English, because they don't even speak the same language
