Thank you for your inputs on this, I was contemplating on that Ionic 5 because of the looks. I'll go with Toyota instead as always.

@nobodyimportant7804 No, I don't own one, I was "contemplating" on getting one. Let's put that in order.

@AmericanRoads Indeed, you are right, full EV. Now i'm back to the drawing board, I guess I'll have to wait and see what the new prius will be like, and go from there. Thank you for reminding me that it was full EV man.

Great format on this comparison AMD ! Well done.

He mentioned it was due to short trips most of the time.

@lawrenceflanagan5037 I also share the same experience, although I do 6-month interval for oil changes. The corolla doesn't reach dark levels, I can't speak for AMD, as all my cars are naturally aspirated. Could be the one driving the car prior to his recent change oil ends up with the ECU always engaging the hybrid not allowing the oil to fully heat up burning off those contaminants ?

Gotta love that last sentence man. We are blessed with AMD putting out these content.

@NoName-ky2sb Agree on the longevity aspect of these new Ionic 5s. All my life, I have only Toyotas and Hondas after realizing the pain of owning a Mercedes after years go by. With how things are going at the moment, I guess my garage will only house these same brands until end of time, with the exception of Mazda. Should I need the itch again for cleaner/elegant, mazda it is. My younger years are behind me, so Honda design does not pull me anymore, only the handling and reliability.

@lawrenceflanagan5037 His is camry if i'm not mistaken.

@JesusisLOVEJohn- I agree, thus I only have Toyotas and Hondas all of my life except for one instance I owned a Mercedes (mind you that was my first car, i know, i know lol). As I am way past that younger years, reliability is heavy on my criteria. Btw, I don't own an Ionic, I was contemplating on it against well Mazda 3 Hatchback hybrid.

@JesusisLOVEJohn- Agreed. I have other cars when I go on long trips (Toyota + Honda) without worries. After some time, many of us had this itch to try something else daring, something else bold, something that will burn our wallets. Lol. I guess my selection narrowed down to Mazda 3 Fastback (mild hybrid) or the upcoming Prius.
