  3.  @scallen3841  We shouldn't be the worlds police for but we have been the worlds police force for decades. I'd love to see a complete reversal of American policy and stop being the worlds policeman, but you are talking about the exact opposite of the present condition. The Founding Fathers wanted the opposite of today and no involvement outside national borders. To the Founding Fathers once you cross the border you do not get involved. So maybe Trump will gradually move us to stronger borders and less new wars?

  4.  @scallen3841  Well, remember the first thing Trump did was start to pressure other nations which we act as a police force for to pay up for defense. So Trump is thinking along the lines of getting out somewhat. But our role as the world's policeman was already in place before WW2, but it was limited to North and South America with the Monroe Doctrine. Oh... and I just remembered the quote: "Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick." ...that was Teddy Roosevelt.

  7.  @joeampolo42  The thing about Trump is he often says one thing (to get you going one way) then does something else which gets to where he wanted all along. 20-20 hindsight will be our best test of how this works out with Venezuela. Let's wait and see. A Magician does NOT play chess.
